EQ3 Email is not your typical email client: the three advanced text entry modes, appropriate for both fans and haters of dictionary-based text entry (e.g. T9), along with the EQ3 keypad layout will increase your messaging speed, providing a viable alternative to a full keyboard. An EQ3-labeled keypad is highly recommended for first time users (see below - Keypads section).

EQ3 has three input modes:

• Eatoni WordWise
  For those familiar with word-guessing methods such as T9. WordWise is three times better at guessing words than T9, and has much more convenient handling of punctuation. WordWise uses LetterWise, rather than multi-tap, in its dictionary mode.

• Eatoni LetterWise
  The simplest method of all. This is for people who find multi-tap too cumbersome, and word-guessing predictive text too uncontrollable. LetterWise is a "What you Type is What You Get" text entry method. Just hit the key with the letter you want, and if it doesn''t appear hit "NextLet" until it does.

• Eatoni MultiTap
  A MultiTap method, optimized for two-thumb typing. This is the mode of choice for those who want to be able to type without looking at the screen or keyboard. It is similar to "abc" multi-tap, but with fewer keystrokes per character, and no need for a time-out or timeout kill button.

Even though the interface is English, EQ3 Email supports predictive text entry in additional languages.

The EQ3 Email app's main advantage is the EQ3 keypad layout, which is different than the classic "ABC" telephone layout. This brings the question of how you are going to appreciate EQ3's increased performance when you have an ABC keypad.

Eatoni already ships replacement keypads for certain devices. Check availability on our website (http://www.eatoni.com/wiki/index.php/Special:CustomOrderKeypad). Remember, if you purchase EQ3 mail, you are eligible for a free keypad (S&H applies).

If there is no keypad available for your device yet, you have two options:

• You can use the on-screen keypad until you are familiar with the EQ3 layout.
• Take matters in your own hands and print your own labels for the models available on our website (http://www.eatoni.com/wiki/index.php/EQ3_Email). There are third-party regular replacement keypads for Nokia phones, which you can label with the EQ3 stickers. Use glossy photo paper for the best printing results.

EQ3 Email is under constant development to include new features and support more devices. Users who have purchased the software can download and install the newer version (with the old key), without removing the old one, thus keeping their settings.   Devices
